Michal Matejovsky, * 30.10.1985, Hradec Kralove

Michal Matėjovskũ grown us in the background of sport-motoristic family, his father Stanislav Matėjovskũ is one of the leading and famous car drivers in the Czech Republic.

That's the reason for his early start of racing career at the age of 8, starting in the karting serial of Czech Championship in 1994 in class COMER 80. His first season he achieved 5th. position in total classification. The following year 1995 Michal raced in the same class of Czech Republic Championship and reached 3rd. place. By the year 1996 Michal finished his racing in class COMER 80 on 3rd. place and in serial Karting Championship of Czech Republic of teams he was 2nd. Three-years-racing period in COMER 80 finished in 1997 when Michal (11 years old) exchanges the kart and class for NJ-100, serial ICA - J of Karting Championship of Czech Republic.
In this season he managed more demanding techniques and won the Championship of Czech Republic, in Karting Championship of Czech Republic he was 2nd and in Karting Championship of teams 1st.

The season 1998 he began by his attendance in prestigious English Karting Championship of McLaren Mercedes "Champions of the Future" in formule Yamaha. Thanks to unique support of sponsors, which shared this demanding project, taking into account his own excellent results and family support, Michal represented the most popular karting team. It is the only one directly supported by McLaren and Ron Dennis, The Young Guns, whose owner is a multiple karting winner of the World Martin Hines, generally known as Mr. Karting. By the end of April Michal previously finished his 6th form of Basic school and moved with parents to Hoddesdon (10 km north from London). He had to adapt fully to the new environment, get over the beginning language barrier an adapt to the local school, which he attended. From professional point of view he had to get used to mechanism and system of English karting briefings, new circuits and had to adapt to different racing techniques.
During the time spent in England Michal found his own driving style and improved the communication with the mechanic and team engineers. His season was honoured by the title of "Best new driver of the year" of McLaren Mercedes Champions of the Future.

Last season 1999 Michal Matėjovskũ entered the class ICA - J 100. He managed to race at English serial McLaren Mercedes and for a popular German karting company DMV - Jörg van den Ommen Kart Serie as well. Both of these serials were closely connected to negotiation with Mercedes Benz. We can say year 1999 dramatically widened the scale the opportunities in both of these racing countries.

In season 2000 Michal started his already 7th karting season, in which he raced for German karting team PCR Germany, year 1999 winning team in Karting Championship of Germany and for Czech team Orion Karting Team Litomyšl. Year 2001Michal changed again to the top category ICA-100, eventhough he could still continue in junior category ICA-J because of his age. Michal was already introduced to his new kart last year (chasis and engine PCR on the circuits in Germany and Italy). His season began on 5th. Ferbuary in Winter Cup Race in Italian Lonato. We supposed this race as a training with exceptional attendance of competing drivers of incredible amount of 155. Next race he took part in was also in Italy, where he got into final but unfortunately due to breakdown he had to surrender. Year 2000 he took part in German serial of Deutscher races ICA - Cup 2000, which was foregone by many trainings with other drivers PCR, placed aboard. Nationwide Michal raced for Czech Karting Team Orion Kart at four races of International Championship of The Czech Republic.

At the beginning of the year was Michal Matejovsky testing on the circuits in Brno and in Most new Formula Skoda as well as Skoda Pick-up. After number of tests and successful appearances on the circuits Motorsport Krenek team -which Michal competes for - decided for the version of competing in Skoda Matador Pick-up Free Style races. In sport- motorist season 2002 Michal Matejovsky fully participated in seven-parts serial of Skoda Matador Pick-up Free Style 2002 races. In Final score we could find him among thirty starting racers on the great eighth place and he managed to become the youngest and most successful novice of the serial.

Michal will race in circuit Octavia in Ceska pojistovna Skoda Octavia Cup series as a member Bohemia Racing Team 2003. He will also be a testing racer of racing truck Tatra Jamal Evo IV in his father´s racing team.
